MBC. Youth

Mission Statement: Our mission is to see God produce godly changes in teenagers’ lives. That change includes receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and personal submission to the fruit-producing work of the Holy Spirit. This is accomplished by God’s working in us as we seek to follow the great commandments’ to love God and one another. We do this by living out the great commission as found in Mathew 28:19-20.

Mancelona Baptist Church has an “open-door policy.” It means that all youth in our community, whosoever desires to attend our activities outlined below, may do so. This “open door policy” is clearly encouraged throughout the Bible. Three distinctive mentions of the Open Door give our ministry it’s focus:

1st) In the Bible, Jesus Christ is the Open Door of salvation. John 10:7 says, “Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.”

2nd) The Open Door also represents the great opportunity for ministry. I Corinthians 16:9 says, “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.”

3rd) The Open Door represents a ministry that has a strong influence in the lives of our youth. Revelation 3:8 says, “I know thy works: behold I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. “

Focus Activities

Sunday School

On Sunday mornings at 10:00 am, the doors are opened for Sunday school. During this time, the young people study the Bible, sing, and worship the Lord together. Sunday school is designed for the teenager to ask questions and receive answers regarding Biblical and moral issues.

Wednesday Night

On Wednesday nights at 7:00pm, the doors are opened for prayer, fellowship, praise and worship, laughing together as fun games are enjoyed, and preaching of God’s word that helps youth learn how to apply the Bible to their lives.

Other Youth Activities

Throughout the year, we open the doors for various youth activities that may include such things as Christmas caroling, Christmas party, sledding party, bowling, lock-in’s, laser tag, paintball and other awesome events. We also plan a summer Bible Camp trip and do fund raising activities. All of these activities are geared to build strong Christian principles in each of our youth. It may be best stated from Romans 12:2, which says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. “
